Hello My Fellow Mainlandian Golfers the Scramble Results are in!
This past weekend was a wet one. I am sorry to say the Saturday Scramble was called after only a few holes played. If you paid to golf you get a raincheck for next week.
The Sunday Scramble was another impressive roster of 14 teams. It was hot and muggy but there was no rain in our way. We played a regular best ball scramble format. The closest to the pin was on no. 10. Funny thing about the closest to the pin. It went out and I personally staked it on no.10 green. It has not come back. We are concerned about the whereabouts of the sign marker. If we don’t find it in the next several days keep an eye out on your cartons of milk, you may see a recent photo of the sign asking for information on last whereabouts.
As for the scoring the first place team was:
Frank Schmidt and Carl Nicks at -3
2nd Place: Rick May and Allen Pryde -1
3rd Place: Steve Bevins and Stuart Hoff
I think Sunday felt like the longest round of my life. Not so much because of slow play. I was just horrible. By the last two holes I was just glad I wasn’t shanking my putts, that much. Cheers to Mike for carrying me through one of my semi-regular atrocious rounds of golf. At least by my calculations I am due for a good round my next time out. I have to be after all of the recent sacrifices to those golf gods.
Next week we are asking everybody who wants to play to please show up by 4:45pm so that we can start promptly at 5pm.
Next week start time is 5pm. Starting Sunday 7.15.18 we will move the start time back to 4pm so we have ample time to finish before dark.
Finally This month is Half Price Greens Fees for all Active Military, Veterans, Police, Fire, First Responders, heck even Postal workers. That is all month of July, Half Price Greens Fees. A small thank you for those of you that help make us safer in this uncertain world.
